Mike Don't bother "trying" AST. As of April, 1988, only two vendors were SHIPPING MCA Ethernet boards, Ungermann-Bass and 3Com. They both use the Intel 82586 chip, the 3Com board has an on-board transceiver and the UB does not. MICOM and Western Digital have announced boards which may be on some dealer's shelves by the time you read this, but I don't know any users which have them in hand. These companies market some of the lower-priced boards for the PC bus, so they may be good price competitors.
