[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] NAMED and IP forwarding

geoff@USAFA.ARPA (Capt Geoff Mulligan) (06/29/88)

1. Why does gould not provide the bind name server?

2. Does anyone know if the 2.0 libraries are compiled to use the name
server so that they will use resolver routines and the
/etc/resolv.conf file?

3. How can I get my gould to act as an IP router? I would like it to
act as our gateway from a ethernet and a couple of slip hosts to the
Milnet.

What version of UTX is it that supports NAMED and IP forwarding?

UTX 2.0 and later supports IP forwarding (provided that you
have configured it in the CONFIGURATION file.
NAMED is supported on UTX/32S 1.1, UTX/32 2.1 and UTX/32 3.0

I have used a copy of UTX/32S 1.1 and it doesn't support NAMED or EGP.
