[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] TCP support for Precedence

jbvb@VAX.FTP.COM (James Van Bokkelen) (07/08/88)

Wanted: Non-omnicompitent, non-omniscient TCP enhancer with newly-developed
TCP support for IP Precedence seeks another sophisticated real-world
implementation for testing, object: Negotiating a connection at Flash
Override or even higher. Ability to speak IP Security (Old, Basic and/or
Extended) a plus.

Testing against my own code only (poking around the Internet hasn't yet turned
up a host that that will do this) lacks a certain satisfaction. If there were
any Multices left, I would try there first, but alas...

James,

Mike St Johns, where are you now that we need you? A plea for security-
capable implementations has surfaced on these wavelengths before. Also,
try Ed Cain (caini@edn-unix.arpa), who might have some players at the
Protocol Testing Laboratory. I suspect you will have instant enthusiasm
and maybe even an implementation or two.

I'm here, I'm here, and listening in. I've been talking with people
actually trying to implement the security nonsense. Its amazing how
many different ideas people have about how security should work or how
it does. Mike
