Has anyone done a salary survey for electronics jobs rating items such as experience, education, specialty area, geographical location, etc.? I'm especially interested the the SF bay area and which specialty areas (semicondutor equip., p.c.'s, peripherals, etc.) rate the highest wages. Also a demand forcast would be helpful. Please send email to me and if there is enough interest, I will postnews to the net.

I would also be interested in such a survey, if it exists, it probably would be worth posting. I know Peterson's_Engineering,_Science,_&_Computer_Jobs_1984 lists "average starting salaries" at quite a few firms as a function of education. I would also be interested in a cost of living vs salary survey. Dave @ Compton Sanatarium

The current issue of "UNIX Review" has a comparison of starting UNIX salaries: East coast vs. West coast, by years of experience. According to the chart, the worst West coast UNIX people are as well paid as the best East coast people. Another source is the IEEE salary book. It breaks down salaries by geographic location, specialty, years of experience, etc. This one is regularly advertised in the IEEE newpaper.

Does someone out there have access to salary survey information they can post or mail to me? I'm mainly interested in the San Francisco Bay area. Also of interest; which peaks higher, hardware engineering, software engineering, or marketing areas? Thanks in advance. qumix!len
