[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] More trap doors?

Two quickies now that the Virus has sort of blown over ...

[1] It looks from the various postings that the SENDMAIL trap door is known by
some but not others. It seems almost certain that there are lots of other trap
lying around and different people are aware of different subsets. It will be
nice if someone will collect a list of potential exposures and appropriate cures
and make it accessible by "responsible" people.

[2] Does anyone have any means to know if other "moles", "sleepers", "worms"
and other nasties have creeped through various trap doors waitng to do
unspeakable things prior to this fiasco? For whatever they are worth, there are
Virus snooper and buster software available for PC's and Mac's. Are there
similar things for the Berkely UNIX world?

[I call bad guys "moles" if they bury themselves deeply into ones system and
then execute tasks on behalf and under the control on some remote entities.
"Sleepers" are bad guys that, lie dormain until waken by specific external or
internal event (i.e. requiring no further external stimulus) and have a wild
party on ones system.]
