I have a problem that I hope someone can help me with. There is a DEC uVax that is connected to the Milnet directly. What I am trying to do is set up a route to the Arpanet via a gateway that has an Arpanet direct connection. Last week I added a route to do that: route add 10.0.0.0 26.0.0.105 1 And it worked for some time until yesterday when the following happened: Here is the routing table before the wierdness: Routing tables Destination Gateway Flags Refcnt Use Interface 26 26.10.0.159 U 43 1613 dda0 10 26.0.0.105 UG 0 0 dda0 128.108.12 128.108.12.1 U 1 374 qe0 192.12.197 128.108.12.10 UG 0 0 qe0 127 127.0.0.1 U 3 381 lo0 192.12.199 128.108.12.10 UG 1 91 qe0 When I try to connect a arpanet host or send mail connections time out and here what the routing table looks like now: Routing tables Destination Gateway Flags Refcnt Use Interface 26 26.10.0.159 U 43 1613 dda0 10 26.0.0.88 UG 1 13 dda0 128.108.12 128.108.12.1 U 1 421 qe0 192.12.197 128.108.12.10 UG 0 0 qe0 127 127.0.0.1 U 3 381 lo0 192.12.199 128.108.12.10 UG 1 735 qe0 As you can see my route to the Arpanet has been modified!!! Where the heck did the 26.0.0.88 come from and how did it get into the route table? The troublesome thing is I had things working for 5 days before this started. I turned routed off on the uVax, but that did not seem to affect anything. I might add that this is my first experience with the DEC machine and Ultrix V2.2-1.
