Services provided by the NIC Hostmaster will be unavailable during SRI International's annual year-end closing from December 26 through January 2. The last DoD Internet Host Table and root domain system files to be generated before the closing will be available December 23. There will be no 800 Hotline service, nor will there be any host, domain, or internet number registration activity during the closing. The NIC will resume normal services on January 3, and a new Host Table will be available on January 5. SRI-NIC.ARPA system operations will continue to be available throughout the holiday closing, as will 24-hour access to online files. Automated online services such as WHOIS, NIC/Query, and SERVICE will also continue to be available during the closing.
