I'm not sure this is the appropriate forum, but here goes: We're moving some of our mail accounts to a MicroVax under VMS. We use the Wollongong package to support all the relevant TCP/IP protocols, including SMTP. However, our problem is that VaxMail itself doesn't really meet our needs. It's interface to DoD protocol suite is an afterthought, and it doesn't give you much flexibility to deal with RFC 822-style headers and the like. For instance, due to this lack of integration, when sending to a list of recipients who are both local and remote, messages passed to the foreign mailer for remote recipients lose the names of the local recipients. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there using VAX/VMS on the Internet. Can you give us any advice, or recommend alternate mail packages? many thanks, Drew Powles Columbia Professional Services BBN Communications dpowles@bbn.com p.s. I'll provide a synopsis for the group, so please send only to me, and I'll send out the total results later.
