[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] MAIL programs for LANs and internet mail

Mark,
If you are looking for SMTP on any LAN that supports NetBIOS or IPX,
then WIN/TCP for DOS 4.0 will give you that.
If you are looking for a mail application gateway between a specific LAN
mail system and SMTP, than I do not know of any as yet.

I responded to the sender that I have an SMTP to/from cc:Mail mail gateway
translator that I am willing to give to anyone willing to do the support
work for his site. I can NOT support the software except in the most basic
ways. Several ARPANET sites have used the software and are quite pleased
with it's performance. Proteon is using the software internally and it has
been working quite well (meaning that only little support is needed!) for
about 6 months now.

Anyone wishing further information on the translator I can send a
description file to and, if the requests warrant, I will make it available
for anonymous FTP.
