Folks,

In order to clarify some questions about JVNCB and Ford, I attach the
current configuration of the JVNCnet network. The JVNCnet network has
been and still is in the process of a complete upgrade. We appologize
for any inconvenience that are the effect of this upgrade. We have in
the past, and are committed in the future to provide the best service
possible.

1.) Current configuration:

1.a) Number of gateways:

	Cisco routers 17
	VAXs 13
	UB routers 6
				--
				36

1.b) Number of communication links:

	T1 lines: 9
	56kbps lines: 13
	Satellite links: 3
	Others (fiber/ether): 1

1.c) Routing protocols:
	IGP:	RIP and IGRP

1.d) External national and international networks:

Arpanet (connected to a VAX8600, JVNCA, and to a Cisco router,
		Ford).
	NSFnet (NSS8).
	NORDUnet (connected via Cisco router)
JANET (scheduled to be connected to Cisco router)

1.e) Other means of access:

	Bitnet (via JVNCC.CSC.ORG)
	Telenet
	Dial-in

1.f) Total traffic matrix for the month of December:

Total number of packets in and out: 531,787,838

Percent of traffic in and out of NSFnet:	22.32%
Percent of traffic in and out of ARPANET: 3.36%
Percent of traffic in and out of JVNCnet (internal): 74.32%

Traffic is sampled once a day from each gateway and stored in
database. Note that the amount of traffic, not only internal
but within the NSFnet system too (not shown here) is one of
the most actively used regional networks.

1.g) Hours of operation:
	24 hours/ 7 days a week

1.h) Topology:
