I am using a UNIX-PC connected to a VAX as a terminal, via a hardwire connection to a multiplexor, and then invoking telnet to log in to a SUN attached to a TCP/IP network linking everthing together. ( except my PC ) The problem I'm having is that while I can do file transfers via kermit to the VAX with no problem, I cannot pass data to the SUN in anything but the smallest amounts. cu's put and take seem to overrun the SUN's tty interface buffers, Kermit will simply not work, I cannot even get the files started and Xmodem/Zmodem will not work either. I suspect the problem to be in the telnet protocol's handling of data and packet sizes. I have tried setting binary and charmode on telnet to no avail. Has anyone done anything like this before and been successful? My objective is get uucp working between my machine and the remote SUN. If there is a good reference on the innards of Telnet between the VAX and the SUN, I would sure like to know about it. Please E-mail any help to me and I will try and summarize if there is a decent solution. Thanks in advance.
