[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] Remote Peripheral Access

kchon@secola.Columbia.NCR.COM (Kun Sop Chon) (02/01/89)

We(our group) try to build an End-to-End solution for TCP/IP Local Area
Network. The hardware configuration for this system will include Unix
mini computers(as server or client), Unix PCs(client), and DOS PCs(client).

One of thing, We like to include in this system is a remote printer access.
In other words, any clients can submit printing jobs on server computer via the TCP/IP network, moniter the printer, and cancel the job if he/she wants.

If any of you know TCP/IP software package (perhaps NFS) allows me to do
these functions please let me know. If you prefer to call I can be reached
at (803) 739-7708 during 8 to 5 in Eastern Standard Time.

There is the Novell package that allows one to print from DOS client
machines to a Unix server machine but not from other Unix machine.
