Cornell University is one of four sites in the U.S. to receive
a large NSF grant to develop a supercomputer facility. The Program of
Computer Graphics will have a major role in the project and needs a
skilled Unix systems programmer. This project will put that person
into the leading edge of supercomputer and interactive computer
graphics research.

Position: Senior Systems Programmer
Department: Theory Center
Description: Participate in the design, implementation, and
testing of an advanced scientific workstation.
The project will involve integration of advanced
off-the-shelf hardware with state of the art
interactive graphics techniques. Research will
focus on user interface management systems, data
base management systems, and concurrent processing.
Long range goal is the development of a system that
can be used as an interactive front end to Cornell's
massively parallel supercomputer.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent with related computer
courses. 3-5 years experience. Strong background
in UNIX systems.
Nice-to-have: Background in database management, array processors,
graphics hardware, or interactive graphics software.
