hwchoy@zpovc.DEC.COM (Heng-Wah Choy DEC Singapore SWS) (02/10/89)

Hi,

NCD (Network Computing Devices) recently announced an X Windows Terminal, the
NCD16. Can anyone give me the address/fax/phone to the company?

Thanx

Model NCD16 16" dialgonal X-windows terminal. Ethernet and RS-232.
1024x1024 pixel MC68000 based. Starts at US$2550. All from trade rag
announcement.

For tomorrow's trivia question: Competitors are given as Visual Technology,
Inc. of Lowell, Mass., and Acer Counterpoint of San Jose, CA. Does anyone
have THEIR addresses?

Has anyone seen any of these beasties to comment on their suitability as
multiwindow terminals?

I saw a Visual Technology 640 XDS being installed yesterday
and have seen/touched an NCD X-display. Both are quite nice.
the NCD is 1024 X 1024 while the VT is 1024 X 800. The VT
appears to be somewhat less expensive ($1995?) versus ($2550).
When comparing, make sure you price with keyboards and mice!
The VT runs out of PROM memory. I think the NCD downloads
into RAM, but I'm not certain of that.
