Has anyone out there used SLIP reliably with 19.2kbaud modems? Are you happy with the results? We're thinking about buying a couple of these fast modems to use here at Bell Labs as backup network links. We are not as concerned with the lower throughput as we are of being unreachable. If you have had reasonable success could you please let me know what kind of modem you are using and possibly what your best TCP/IP configuration was? By this I mean did you play with the window size or the mss to get higher throughput?
