[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] Children disguised as vendors

glen@aecom.YU.EDU (Glen M. Marianko) (03/15/89)

You know what, I think crybaby vendors should be banned from the net!

As a user listening to vendors go at eachother's throats I find myself
rather turned off to those companies. Maybe if you have a problem
you should air it privately rather than spattering venom all over
my disk drives.

I for one couldn't care less if a vendor on the net OCCASIONALLY as an aside
spouts a little MEASURED enthusiasm for his own product. It obviously
shows a little in-house excitement and may even indicate a good product.
As long as the guy CLEARLY states his affiliation with the company
and doesn't masquerade as a user, FINE! I think the intelligent users
out there will make the connection and take the comments with a
bag of salt.

This bickering is CONSTANTLY coming up on the nets - ENOUGH! Hear
me now and understand me later, IT ONLY MAKES YOU LOOK BAD IN THE END.

I DON'T WANT THE VENDORS ON THE NET TO BE AFRAID TO RESPOND JUST
BECAUSE THERE IS SOMEONE OUT THERE READY TO CHEW THEIR HEADS OFF!
Your availability and resource to the net is too valuable. After all,
if we called you would you really answer the phone? 8-)

Now, make friends publicly and short eachother's stock privately.
