[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] How much ISDN is out there?

zweig@p.cs.uiuc.edu (04/23/89)

I know this isn't 100% germaine to the TCP-IP group, but I figure there
ought to be enough network experts reading to get a reasonable answer:

How many homes/offices could I walk into tomorrow and see ISDN
	equipment?

I'm just curious -- since I read about broadband ISDN in IEEE Communications
magazine, but couldn't get Illinois Bell to put a T1-rate ISDN line into
my home for all the rice in China (or for any other sum of money/form of
remuneration). It seems like ISDN is a great idea that's on the way -- but
(as far as I can gather) _still_ on the way.
