[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] What is AT&T's vendor id?

jpeck@hpspdra.HP.COM (Joe Peck) (04/17/89)

I'm trying to verify what the Ethernet vendor id is for AT&T.
I have it as 08-00-10, but lately we've been seeing packets on
a network with the vendor id = 80-00-10. I'd like to know if we've
got the right one for AT&T and if we do, then who is 80-00-10?

Thanks,

All of the lists I have seen show AT&T's vendor ID to be 08-00-10,
however all of the AT&T machines I have pinged on campus have
ethernet addresses beginning with 80-00-10.

Apparently 08-00-10 is assigned to AT&T, but they use 80-00-10. I have
never seen packets from the former address range, and can verify that
the systems using 80-00-10 are all from AT&T.
