UNIX SYSTEM PROGRAMMER
Lucasfilm Ltd (LFL) is looking for an experienced UNIX Systems.
Systems Programmer Individual will be responsible for supporting
LFL's UNIX (BSD 4.2) network. The network has 260 devices
supported by four VAX 11/750's and ten Suns.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
--On-going support for all of Lucasfilm's system software. This
includes changes to mail, nroff, emacs and system utilities. The
individual needs to be able to write good C code that is
readable, commented and documented. The C code will serve as a
model for others.
--Directing the activities of our junior programmers. This
includes supervising their activities, setting priorities and
following-up to insure changes were performed correctly.
Supervision includes setting standards for writing documents,
testing and installing code.
--Be responsive to users needs. This position is a customer
service job as much as a programming job. Therefore, the
individual needs to have a genuine user-orientation and a desire
to solve user's systems problems.
--Be flexible. The job duties will change as the priorities and
needs change. Therefore, the individual needs to be able to
adapt to changes by working on whatever is needed.
