[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] tcp/ip for a 3b20s running r&d

Has anybody had the experience of installing tcp-ip on a 3b20 running 2.1.1.1
r&d unix?  We have installed it and cannot use it. It crashes the system.
HELP!!!!!
