This may seem ridiculous to some of you, but both myself and a friend got our jobs from job ads on USENET, so I thought I'd give this a shot. ITT has shutdown it's B&CC Division in Raleigh, NC. With no engineers the computers are going away, so I've been laid off. I received my MS in Computer Science from the University of Arizona in 1983, and my BS in Math/CompSci from Suffolk University in Boston, MA in 1981. I've worked for the ITT's B&CC Division for two and a half years since graduation. My job was with the Software Support Staff for B&CC's Engineering Group, and consisted of software tool support for product development and system admin- istration for our VAX-780 and four Sun 2/170's all running Berkeley UNIX. My specific duties have included the evaluation and recommendation of cross development tools for product development. The porting of several cross assemblers and a cross compilers to the UNIX environment. Additionally, I ported a CDL (Call Description Language) compiler (an ITT UNIX developed utility) from our machine to VMS for an ITT division in Italy. The evaluation and recommendation for the purchase of new computers (the Suns), and an Imagen laser printer for document preparation. The maintaining of the communications links with our MDS and PC development systems. As well as the general answering of questions from our engineers about both UNIX specifically and computers and programming in general, and system administration and supervision. My job preference is either for some form of UNIX software development, or another system administration job. I have no geographic preference. Needless to say replying using E-Mail makes no sense as this machine is being packed up and sent away. Contact Information: William P. Malloy 6102-F Shanda Drive Raleigh, NC 27609 (919) 848-0238
