[net.news.group] moderated groups--problem and proposal

I would agree, but for the fact that a couple of the moderated groups have
started up with stated policies of NOT duplicating any material from the
corresponding net.* group--this makes the mod.* group a separate entity
rather than a synopsis or distillation.  I like the mod.* approach better
than I like the "no duplicates" policy on top of it.

At another level, although I have some minor doubts about the mod.*
approach, I think it's worth a try and I wish people would give it a chance
to see how it will work out.  Make suggestions, but can the "censorship and
fascism" crap.  We need to be able to carry on some sensible discussion on
how to make it work, without all the noise in the discussion.  Perhaps
it's time--in fact, it's already been suggested (in either misc or
flame)--to create:

	mod.mod		moderated discussion of merits of moderated groups
