I am sorry to see this mess get posted, but when I mailed it last week I
did not expect it to get posted to news.

However, around every dark cloud is a silver lining, and the silver lining
here is that someone will fix their mailers.  

I am rather new to netland, so could someone tell me what I should have
done with the misdirected mail I received?  I will post a summary of
the responses here and in the proper newsgroup (with follow ups to the
proper newsgroup).
