I would like to get into "better" communications programming using sockets. Does anyone know of some good books on programming with sockets? The BSD stuff in the manuals is okay to start, but I would like a more detailed introducton.... Louis McDonald The Aerospace Corporation

Sun's documentation on sockets, contained in the IPC Primer section of whatever manual it's in, is exemplary. It gives a good explanation of the UNIX domain and IN domain sockets, connection- and connectionless- oriented sockets, and provides useful examples. -- {apple, pacbell, hplabs, ucbvax}!well!gors gors@well.sf.ca.us (Doolan) | (Meyer) | (Sierchio) | (Stewart)
