Folks, I have decided to bite the bullet and set our Unix boxes up to do Proxy ARP if we want them to, and set all the others to not do proxy ARP. How does one tell if an ULTRIX machine is set up to do proxy ARPs? Once you know whether or not it is switched on or off, how do you switch it from on to off, or from off to on? In fact, this info would be useful for other machines besides ULTRIX machines. Can anyone help? Thank you, Mark Williams miw@bunyip.cc.uq.oz (ACSnet) bunyip.cc.uq.oz.au (Internet)

Mark, As far as I know, there are three ProxyARP implementations on SUN. Especially, the source code written by Mr.Haavard Eidnes at Norwegian Institute of Technology would greatly help you. You could contact him at he@idt.unit.no Hope this helps. -Ken Ken-ichiro Murakami NTT Software Laboratories Tokyo, Japan -------
