[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] Reference, sample programs on Sun Network wanted

I am doing some work that involves the possible use of
the data structure, interface and routines mentioned in
the "Network implementation notes" of the SUN Network
manual. I wonder if anybody can tell me 
1. reference articles, publications etc that explains 
   in more detail than that covered in the implementation


2. how to obtain some sample programs that are coded
   at that level/layer under 4.2 BSD/SUNOS 3.5. I merely
   want to have better insight in the usage of the data
   structure, interface and routines that are in the
   implementation notes.
