     TCP/IP RPC and DNS
     -------------------

Does anybody know of a VAX/VMS based implementation of RPC
(particularly the Port Mapper) and Domain Name Server/Resolver.

We have DEC's ULTRIX Connection, but for the time being, they
do not support these features. We would only be interested in a
software solution over standard DEC interfaces to Ethernet.

Try MultiNet from TGV.COM (netmail support@tgv.com), I don't have
the phone number handy. This is a slick, robust implementation of
the Internet protocol suite for VMS that also includes NFS and
the services that you mentioned and is one of the best software
packages I have ever worked with. Feel free to call for additional
comments and references but we (the University of Pittsburgh), looked
at a number of implementations of the Internet protocols for VMS
(including DEC's product), and MultiNet was the clear winner.

If only they'd tackle VM/MVS...
