>Subject: Thin or Thick >While we are on the subject would someone like to comment on >the difference between RG58 and RG59 thinwire? >Can you mix them or should you use just one type? I knew I would attract attention but I did not realize how fast and how much. Thanks to all that replied so quickly and the concensusis that RG58 - is the correct thinwire coax that uses 50ohms and the RG59 coax is used for CATV (cable TV) at 75ohms and never should the two be mixed, nor the latter used at all on an ethernet. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ + Allan Lazzareschi American Mathematical Society + + Technical Specialist P O Box 6248 + + AVL@MATH.AMS.COM Providence, R.I. 02940 + + (401)272-9500 x272 + +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ -------
