[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] RFC 1006

maxwell@wessex.dec.com (Dave Maxwell) (10/26/89)

I'm doing some investigation into running an ISO stack using TCP/IP as the
network service provider, as outlined in rfc 1006 'ISO Transport Services
on top of the TCP'. I would like to know if someone could give me a more
detailed description of how this can be done. I would also interested in
any existing implementations.

Please mail any replies to maxwell@wessex.dec.co.uk as I do not have direct
acces to usenet at the moment.

Thanks

There are probably 3 or 4 independent implementations around. Retix (the OSI
vendor) has one. A well-known company with three-letters in its name
has one. And a lot of other people use a reference implementation of
RFC1006 found in the ISODE. You can drop a note to
bug-isode@nisc.nyser.net to get availability information.
