[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] Help: Connecting a Printer on a Terminalserver

hnt@Frobozz.COM (Michael Hentrich) (11/29/89)

Hiya,

We nned your help regarding the following configuration:

We are using 3COM Terminalserver, and have to connect
Printers to them.

Now my question:
How to connect from the host to the Terminalserver?
If I configure the Port on the TS to be a printer, I may
do a telnet or a rlogin to the Port, but I have no error
recovery and some problems regarding stty modes etc.

I think we need a kind of SW to make the connect. Who
of you has experience, how to do it.

Thanx in advance

Michael

I posted something called "tcpcon" to comp.sources.unix
a few weeks ago which allows any tcp connection
to look like a real device ( it attaches a process to a pty)
It allows terminal server port to run as a printer, SLIP, getty etc

I haven't seen it appear on comp.sources.unix so I might repost
it somewhere un-moderated. Any suggestions?
