I am having problems using the new 3C505 driver with NCSA Telnet. I connect
to a host but after sometime the connection hangs. I do an (ALT-M) to see
the messages. Here's what I get.
Trying to open TCP connection to:<hostname>
DO Option TERMINAL TYPE (WILL)
IAC SB sent type VT102
DONT Option NAWS (WONT)
Will Option ECHO (DO)
Will Option Suppress GO AHEAD (DO)
DO Option ECHO (WILL)
WILL Option ECHO (DO)
DONT Option ECHO (WONT)
I get these same messages every time.
Can anyone, from these messages, figure out what is going wrong?
Particulars of my situation:
Machine : AST 386 DOS 3.30
ETHERNET CARD: 3C505 base addr 0x300 Int 15 DMA 5
I'm using Krishnan Gopalan and Stefancik's new 3C505 driver with the
following parameters:
3c505 0x60 15 0x300 0xd000
/\ /\ /\ /\
|| || \\ \\
packet hardware \\ base
int int io addr
no no addr
I am not sure what some of these paramters refer to and use the defaults.
I know however the 3c505 in the machine uses interrupt 15, and DMA 5
If I start-up NCSA Telnet on the AST and ping it from a remote host, I
get a number of ping replies, around 15, and then it stops replying.
It seems I am communicating, but only for a short time. I would appreciate
if anyone can help me.
