!A freely distributed e-mail interface with a nice GUI would help. Perhaps
i don't think you'll see *free* GUI's for faxmodem control
for a while yet. at least not until the extended Hayes AT
command set for fax is implemented and fully standardized.
for now, faxmodem software is tied to individual faxmodems;
every brand has a different interface! i don't know of a one
which has implemented the Hayes AT-fax standard.

!encapsulating FAX bitmaps as well as other graphic formats. A freeware
!conversion of e-mail to FAX would be nice.
it is nice! it's included with the PBMPLUS toolkit,
along with lots more suave X-ish filters.

! 1. FAX <=! e-mail gateways.
there are a few of us out there who will fax email to our local
area codes. there hasn't been much interest, though. only
4 people have asked me to fax things (Boston).
! 2. Develop a global addressing scheme.
!
! 3. Develop a simple user interface.
!
! 4. Intergrate graphics, (voice?, vidio???) etc.
!
!Can't be that hard.
it wasn't! unfortunately, i've got this nasty bug
in this email2fax gateway here: all it seems to send
out is a fax of my cat, regardless of the input email!
