[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] XNS protocol types...

BILLW@MATHOM.CISCO.COM (William "Chops" Westfield) (03/15/90)

Does anyone have a list of XNS protocol types and/or socket numbers in
common use? (similar to the assigned numbers tcp document, or the list
of ethernet typecodes that gets requested periodically.)

Yes, I know this has little to do with tcp-ip, but this IS where the
experts tend to "hang out".

Thanks

From Appendix D of my Grey Book (which is never out of
my reach [call me sentimental]):

	Assigned well-known socket numbers

	Routing Information 1
	Echo 2
	Router Error 3
	Experimental 40-77

From Appendix E of same:

	Assigned internet packet types

	Routing Information 1
	Echo 2
	Error 3
	Packet Exchange 4
	Sequenced Packet 5
	Experimental 20-37

Beware of IPX, which does not heed the Xerox number space.
