[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] Whose proto 6c:c5:d0 .. runts

efb@suned1.Navy.MIL (Everett F Batey II) (04/11/90)

Well when the place got big enough some gadgets got in here we cant
ident .. either they swapp addresses or are defects or whatever ..
my networking friends report having found Src: 6C:C5:D0:EC:D4:D0 sending
size 16 byte runt packets to Dst: 0C:C1:D0:C0:C0:6C. The known ethers
list we had given them last DID NOT apparently include these numbers.

Looking for any leads as to possible sources. Incidentally, our mostly
Sun, DEC, ODS, LanBridge world has had an irregular 'incorrect length'
message generator for over a year. The Suns Console window will now
and then ... no repeatability .. refer to address FFFFFFFFFF for far
more bytes than the IP header .. maybe related .. /Ev/
