It never occurred to me that the demise of the ARPANET (net 10) would turn the MILNET into an Internet backwater, but that is what seems to have happened. After more than 24 hours of getting "destination unreachable" messages whenever I try to connect to other parts of the universe I called the MILNET trouble desk, only to learn that our link to the NSFnet is down. Somehow, I thought we were better connected than that.
