[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] MILNET connectivity woes

Makey@Logicon.COM (Jeff Makey) (06/06/90)

It never occurred to me that the demise of the ARPANET (net 10) would
turn the MILNET into an Internet backwater, but that is what seems to
have happened. After more than 24 hours of getting "destination
unreachable" messages whenever I try to connect to other parts of the
universe I called the MILNET trouble desk, only to learn that our link
to the NSFnet is down. Somehow, I thought we were better connected
than that.

USENET traffic seems to be flowing well: a testimony to the advantages
of using truly redundant paths.
