[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] Please, no more transit vs migrate smirking

ggm@brolga.cc.uq.oz.au (George Michaelson) (06/12/90)

If I hear/read one more article from <arbitrary wise-old-owl>
about transit vs migrate I gonna go off pop.

Migrate is appropriate when you behave like a flock of sheep about
something, have random goats to be separated out, shepherds pushing
you into small confined spaces, with snarling dogs nipping your heels,
and have a bunch of lone wolves picking off stragglers along the edge.

It also applies to large flighty crowds that head around aimlessly,
following a leader blindly on faith, and split up into a zillion separate
paths when attacked, and also the ones that seem to keep coming back year
after year to the same old turf.

Sounds like network debates to me...

Around here, OSI is like buying this years vintage:

-Tastes awful when you sample, but your nose tells
you its going to improve with age.

Enough mixed metaphors.
