[net.jobs] Senior Writing position at National Semiconductor, Sunnyvale

bond@nsc.UUCP (James Bond) (03/05/86)

Senior Technical Writer needed.

The Technical Publications department of National Semiconductor's
Microcomputer Systems Division is looking for a writer with experience
documenting real-time operating systems.

This particular position will support National Semiconductor's work
porting Hunter and Ready's real-time operating system, VRTX*, to the
Series 32000(R) family, so experience with VRTX is strongly preferred.
(To compare your experience on another real-time operating system:
VRTX is targeted for embedded computer applications.)

In addition to the real-time operating system experience, experience
documenting UNIX** and UNIX-derived operating systems is a big plus.

Currently the department's principle work is documenting National's
ports of 4.n bsd (GENIX***) and System V.n, the Series 32000
development systems, ISEs**** and National's Series 32000 cross-support
development tools. We also documented National's ICM-3216, the
CIM***** (CMOS Industrial Microcomputers) line, BLC line and continue
to support the microcontroller product lines. With some exceptions, if
it was a National manual, we wrote it or produced it or ported it.

I've included the list of department responsibilities in part because I
have been warned that it will be difficult to find my ideal candidate,
so....

If I don't find my ideal candidate, I will be looking for a lead writer
with extensive UNIX experience.

I know the asterisks were getting silly, but this is a semi-official
posting after all.
