[net.jobs] *Hacker* looking for position: resume

casey@lll-crg.ARpA (Casey Leedom) (03/09/86)

Ok, I guess it's time for me to start looking. *sigh* My financial aid
is done and through, I'm no closer to a degree than I was seven years ago
(somehow English 1003 never could compete with a well turned algorithm),
and it looks like the State hiring freeze is going to prevent the school
from giving me a lab technician position.

  So, here goes:

JOB GOALS	To get involved in *interesting* computer work in a highly
*learning oriented* environment. To be involved with
interesting people. I am what my friends call a `utopian
programmer', prefering to work on projects that see wide
use and are *useful* to lots of people. These considerations
		outweigh salary for me.

EXPERIENCE	Overview:
I've been working with computers for about ten years
now. I started working with micro computers while in
high school (an IMSAI 8080 programming in *machine
			language* via front panel switches!)
Since then I've spent most of my time a California
State University, Stanislaus working at first on a
PDP-11/45 running RSTS/E, and for the last year on
a PDP-11/44 running various incarnations of unix as
I brought them up (most recently the seismo version
			of BSD 2.9).
		Specifics:
Extensive assembly language programming on 8080/Z80
micro computer systems writing device drivers.
			Extensive PDP-11 assembly language programming
writing systems software including a mail system for
RSTS/E and a three dimensional graphics package.
Extensive C programming for systems development
under unix associated with managing, maintaining, and
expanding unix system facilities. Extensive work
in Lisp, Prolog, and C in functional programming.

ASSETS I am highly motivated and adapt to and learn new environments
very rapidly, and I work well with similarly self motivated
		people.

SPECIFIC AREAS	Unix systems development. Functional programming. Fifth
OF INTEREST	generation systems. Graphics. And anything else
*interesting*. I.e. DON'T OFFER COBOL ACCOUNTING SYSTEMS
		POSITIONS!

SALARY If I can live and eat, fine.

REGERENCES	You want references? I can give you any number of them.
I am highly regarded here and am considered a valuable
asset to the department and school.

Sorry for the length of this (maybe I should have mentioned that I'm
very verbose ... But that would be redundant :-) ). I realize that my
job goals are a little vague, but I think you get the idea of what I'm
looking for.
