[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] WIN/TCP for VMS 5.1 NTYDRIVER bug

jwn2@qualcom.qualcomm.com (John Noerenberg) (07/12/90)

When users paste long segments of text from one Mac application into a Telnet
window open to a VAX, the VAX regularly loses portions of the text. I traced
this to improper coordination between NTYDRIVER and TTDRIVER in VMS, and
reported the problem to Wollongong. TTDRIVER tries to xoff NTYDRIVER, but
NTYDRIVER ignores the request, throwing down characters while TTDRIVER catches
its breath.

When I called Wollongong's technical support, the guy I talked to mumbled
something about "oh that problem...review committee...mumble-mumble-mum..",
but that was 6 months ago.

Does anyone know if a patch exists for this? I apologize if I'm bringing up
old news, but I've still got the bug, and I'm not getting any younger...

Thanks from this poor, stranded luser in VMS-land!
