I won't even try to surpass those Astronautics notes. CYGNET SYSTEMS CYGNET SYSTEMS is engaged in the development of an optical disk-based image management system. We have immediate openings for the following positions. VAX/VMS PRINCIPAL/SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER Responsibilities include design and development of optical disk based file- systems. You must have 6-10 years of experience in software development. VMS interprocess communication and I/O facilities required. Experience with UNIX and C helpful. A BS (CS,EE,Math) required. We also have a second position in this area for those with 4-6 years experience. MANAGER - HARDWARE SYSTEMS Responsible for the definition, design, development/acquisition, documentation and support of assigned hardware projects. You must have 5-10 years experience in hardware development, knowledge of Motorola 68000 and VME systems, data base applications and data communications, 2-3 years previous management experience, the ability to take projects from definition to completion, and experience with outside buy of subsystems. A Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent is necessary. SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER - APPLICATIONS EXPERT Responsibilities include project leadership responsibility, lead S/W architect for applications interface, design of libraries to support applications development, user interface prototyping. You must have 8+ years of S/W Design and development with an emphasis on interactive, user-oriented applications software, ability to lead a design group, knowledge of interactive/windowing systems, familiarity with networked systems. A BS (CS,EE,or Math), MS desirable. SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER - SYSTEM MODELER Responsibilities include: design and devleopment of a model to simulate a networked computing system, design and development of product configurator. You must have 7+ years of software design and development experience with an emphasis on modeling and simulation of computer systems. Ability to lead a modeling effort and knowledge of networked computing systems is necessary. BS (CS, EE, or Math), MS desirable. SOFTWARE ENGINEER - LIBRARY DEVELOPMENT Responsibilities include: design of libraries to support applications development. You must have 6+ years of S/W design and development with an emphasis on data base applications and or library development, knowledge of data base applications, familiarity with networked systems, prior experience with UNIX and C, and knowledge and development of S/W development tools.
