I'm trying to get a handle on network management tools which are available or under development which allow a network manager to use one centralized database and view the database under X (or SunView or whatever). The X program should be able to dynamically draw an accurate representation of the network in the window and show the status of the node (using snmp or something else). The program should be capable of handling the database required by a nice-sized statewide network and be able to display any of the database information upon user demand. Any pointers, leads, etc. will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Henry henryc@osc.edu
