[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] OTA requesting feedback on NREN

asp@UUNET.UU.NET (Andrew Partan) (09/20/90)

The United States Congress Office of Technology Assessment is
undertaking a study of the National Research and Education Network.
The completion of the study will be in the spring of next year. Gordon
Cook, the study Director, would like to use the network to collect
ideas from the people in network land who will be affected by the
NREN. He would be especially interested in feedback on NREN governance
and the apportionment of funds between the various stakeholders, on
access (should there be an institutional affiliation required), cost
apportionment for users, and issues of commercialization
privatization. These of course are not ALL the issues and are not
meant to circumscribe input. He will credit the idaes of anyone cited
from the net discussion unless they specifically ask to remain
anonymous in their posting.

Please reply directly to Gordon Cook (cook%tmn@uunet.uu.net), not to
me. [The address will probably be cook@ota.gov w/in the next 2 weeks.]
