Well, we've been bitten once more by Wollongong's TCPIP for VMS. I have found out today that their NFS cannot understand enough of the UNIX file commands to even be usable. (No chown, No permissions, No link()) Does anyone know if any of the other TCPIP implemntations support NFS?? And does it work well enough to be used with a UNIX system?? And of course can it used a shared ethernet interface on the VAX?? I still have to support LAT as well. Any help?? bill gunshannon 702WFG@SCRVMSYS.BITNET

Novell has an NFS implementation for VMS. I have tested it against our DFS (MS-DOS) product (pc-nfs clone) and found it to work quite well. Try contacting manoj@xlnvax.novell.com

A number of vendors offer TCP/IP and NFS on a VAX/VMS.. The Novell (previously Excelan) offering is called MULTINET for VMS.. For details, pl call 800-lankind or 408-434-2300

I thought TGV, Inc. offered MULTINET. Novell doesn't do TCP/IP. At least
the ones that snuck through the door here don't.

PS: I called the product specialist at 800-lankind and they didn't know
about MULTINET either.

In addition to the full TCP/IP suite, we have an NFS Server and the ONLY NFS Client available for VAX/VMS as options what are sold with MultiNet. Our NFS products are not available through Novell, but Novell sells their "LANservice NFS" (NFS Server only) which was originally developed for EXOS but now runs over MultiNet. If you'd like more information or an evaluation copy give us a call at 800-TGV-3440 / 408-427-4366. Ken
