[comp.protocols.tcp-ip] Reply to network file backup

We back up our two Sun 3/60 workstations to a CDC Cyber 840 by using the
standard "dump" command with the output directed to a NFS-mounted file on
the Cyber. We do incremental dumps every night and full dumps once per week.
It's all automatic - controlled by a crontab entry.

This is a very efficient way of doing it - we can back up 100 megabytes
in about 25 minutes, all unattended.

You also have to back up the root partition to tape once in a while in case
you have to do a full restore.

Try it, you'll like it!
