From: David Sweigert supporting U.S. Special Operations Command We are trying to find the public domain software for a SNMP package that can run off a PC. We would like to modify the source code to acquire data from a Veristron TCU. Anyone know where we can get an SNMP Agent for a PC. ??? po box 4423 annapolis, md 21403 301-637-5098

I checked RFC 1147, and found that the CMU SNMP Distribution includes code for an SNMP agent for a Kenetics Fastpath2/3/4, the machine independent portions of which "run on CMU's IBM PC/AT based router." It would be better than starting from scratch... As given in RFC 1147, the CMU SNMP distribution is available via anonymous FTP from lancaster.andrew.cmu.edu (128.2.13.21), as files pub/cmu-snmp.9.tar, and pubkip-snmp.9.tar. You might look for a higher release number. I'm sure that the CMU SNMP has been updated more recently than has its catalog entry. - Bob Stine Applied Cybernetics, Inc.
