Does anyone have Telnet running concurrently along with Banyan Vines network.... What set-up are you using. With Telnet installed on each workstation every thing works fine as long as your not logged into the file server. Once logged in or having Telnet reside on a network drive, the PC and network loses communications. I'm fimiliar with the way Novell can function with Telnet by the use of packet drivers..... What is the secret for Vines.....?? Thanks in advance for any info../

VINES doesn't use packet drivers. Instead, they have a hardware device sharing interface built into VINES. We offer a version of PC/TCP which talks to it, and gives the functionality you want. I don't know if any of the freeware developers have ever considered doing drivers for this. I have heard rumors of VINES which can use NDIS, and if you could get it, this could be combined with the NDIS-Packet Driver adapter to use freeware. If this is in fact a feature of their 4.0 release, I have been told it will be available sometime this winter. James B. James' NDIS-Packet driver adapter works with Vines 4.0 P1W and cutcp or ka9q. -- John Robert Breeden, netcom!jbreeden@apple.com, apple!netcom!jbreeden, ATTMAIL:!jbreeden ------------------------------------------------------------------- "The nice thing about standards is that you have so many to choose from.
