Reply-To: tom@citi.umich.edu (Tom Unger) Distribution: usa Organization: University of Washington, Seattle I am trying to implement a file transfer over telnet. On the unix side I am running sz (as sx for XModem) and on the Mac side I'm runing the software that I'm writing. For the file transfer I negociate telnet binary mode, in both directions. The unix machine responds positivly, for both directions. (I think that sx also does what is necessary to transmit binary data). For downloads (unix to mac) I find that a NULL is inserted after every CR. I know that this is required for default operation but I expected that in binary mode I would only have to watch for IACs. Is the unix implementation that I have wrong (a/ux 2.0) or does the CR NULL rull apply even in binary mode? I checked the RFCs but didn't see anything pertaining to how CR should be handled in binary mode. Please reply via mail to: unger@cdp.igc.orgTo UnMIT Tom Unger MITEM
