I'm looking to notify a client program on a UNIX system that the server on a VMS system is going to go away (I'm using the CMU TEK implementation of TCP/IP). I've read that a program will receive a SIGURG signal when it receives out-of-band data. Does anyone know of a way to send it using CMU-TEK? Given my VMS/UNIX combination, does anyone know of a simple way to trigger a signal to the UNIX side, failing the OOB approach? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return address: Dan Morton Voice: 215-728-3644 Fox Chase Cancer Center 7701 Burholme Avenue Fax: 215-728-3574 Philadelphia, PA 19111 USA Net: morton@fccc.edu
