(I apologize to the list for sounding like a broken record, but...)

Check RFC 1147. It describes, and tells how to get, many free and
commercial products for managing TCP/IP internets. In particular, it
tells how to get CMU's SNMP and MIT's SNMP via anonymous FTP.

David,

Glad you asked. :-)

RFC 1147 is "A Network Management Tool Catalog." It is a (by no means
comprehensive) list of free and commericial tools for managing TCP/IP internets
and the devices that they interconnect.

RFC 1147 is also FYI 2; the purpose of the FYI series of documents is to provide
general or practical information on the Internet. As you might surmise from the
number, the FYI document series is rather new.

RFC 1147 was published in April of this year. The IETF is currently working on
developing son-of-1147. Anyone who would like to have his/her tool listed in
the next edition of the catalog, or anyone who would like to have an existing
catalog entry updated, should contact me, or drop a note to noctools@merit.edu.
For various reasons, we require vendors to provide the draft entries of their
commercial products.

Yes. Send an empty email message to service@nic.ddn.mil. For the ASCII version
of the RFC, use SUBJECT line

     RFC 1147

For the postscript version (which I recommend, if you have a postscript
printer), use SUBJECT line

     RFC 1147.PS

For more info on the NIC document server, use SUBJECT line
