Greetings Once again! Thanx to all that responded to my previous query. We have not solved the problems as of yet but are closer. First of all COURIER mail was not at fault. Although it does help to have proper addressing anywhere you go- problem #1. Secondly, the MMDF configuration on my SCO Unix machine seems to be working OK, however, we have narrowed the problem on mail receipt to a very perculiar symptom. If the machine is on my local network (140.185.x.x) and is not in my /etc/hosts table my SCO Unix machine will not allow a mail connection (i.e. telnet machine.domain 25). However those local hosts which were left in my host table (prior to my use of a nameserver) could send mail to me. Finally everyone outside the 140.185.x.x network can send mail to me without being in the /etc/hosts table. What is going on???? I thought MMDF was completely seperate from the "normal" network services provided by UNIX. I also got several suggestions on MMDF docs. A short configuration guide provided to me help a bit. But I was told of an "ftp" source for troff docs. They have been printed out and I am checking for their applicabily to SCO MMDF. More later. If those who might have some additional ideas on these questions could respond to me directly, I'll post a final summary later. thanx Lee Hutchins hutch@ssmct62.ssc.af.mil (205) 279-4555
